Tickets are available starting Monday July 21, 2014 for the Utah Ogden Temple open house. The public Ogden Temple open house will begin on Friday, 1 August 2014 and run through Saturday, 6 September 2014, except for Sundays.
The temple was closed in April 2011 for extensive renovation which included reshaping the entire exterior with new stone and art glass. The temple entrance was moved from the west side to the east side, where it faces Washington Boulevard, one of Ogden’s main streets. The renovation of the temple also includes reconfigured rooms and new energy-saving electrical, heating and plumbing systems. Other renovations include underground parking and a complete relandscaping of the temple block and a new major water feature.

The Ogden Temple was originally built in 1972 and was the 5th temple in Utah and the 14th operating temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
There are now 142 dedicated temples worldwide, including 13 in Utah. Those include the Bountiful Temple, Brigham City Temple, Draper Temple, Jordan River Temple, Logan Temple, Manti Temple, Monticello Temple, Mount Timpanogos Temple, Oquirrh Mountain Temple,Provo Temple, Salt Lake Temple, St. George Temple and Vernal Temple. Additional temples have been announced or are under construction in Provo, Payson and Cedar City.
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints consider temples “houses of the Lord” where Christ’s teachings are reaffirmed through marriage, baptism and other ordinances that unite families for eternity. Following the public open house and the dedication, the Ogden temple (and all other temples) are open only to faithful Latter-day Saints. This is an exquisite opportunity to see the beautiful rooms and reasons for temples.

Wow! I had no idea they were so extensively remodeling it. It makes me a little sad that both of those temples (Provo and Ogden) have been changed enough to take away the original symbolism, but I also understand the changes and why they are being made. The renovations are truly beautiful, and it’s cool that they are doing another open house! Wish I were in Utah to take my family!
